After men went to war, woman had the opportunity to replace them in the work field. Impressed that women could work to the same ability as men, Wilson endorsed woman suffrage. In 1920. the nineteenth amendment, woman's suffrage, was ratified.
To help the war effort, the Food Administration, led by Herbert C. Hoover, was created. It encouraged people to help the war at home by having meatless tuesday and wheatless wednesday.
Wilson's fourteen points were extremely disliked by Republicans, in particular Henry Cabot Lodge. Replublicans favored a more isolationist policy, while the fourteen points all but signified no end to an american-europe relationship. They were particularly against Article X, which which bound America to aid any country in the league to avoid conflict.
